Tonight Chris and Michelle came in town for the baby shower tomorrow and we went to dinner. After dinner, the boys decided they wanted beer and Dusty had to have the Shiner Family Pack which he is convinced is only at HEB. We pulled in to HEB and Dusty wanted to park in the loading zone but I told him he had to park in a real spot. I didn't need another ticket as a result of his laziness (that morning I got a ticket in his truck for an expired inspection sticker... seems even if you are pregnant, you can't talk your way out of a ticket for that if it expired in November of last year.) So, we parked right in front of the liquor store and I suggested he go in there and see if they sold the family pack. Dusty refused and said only HEB carries it so off they went.
After a few minutes, I thought to myself wouldn't it be funny if Dusty and Chris got back to the car and there was a Shiner Family pack sitting on the dashboard. After much thought of how a very pregnant girl buying beer was going to look, I decided it was worth it, bundled up in my coat and headed in.
Sure enough, they sold it. I grabbed one and went to check out. As I was paying I said to the clerk, "Man, you can't even begin to imagine how excited I am that you sell this", took my beer and gloated all the way to the car knowing again, "I was right and Dusty was wrong." It didn't dawn on me until I got back int he car and told Michelle what I had said, that now I understood why the clerk gave me such a strange look when I said that. Nonetheless, the look on Dusty's face was priceless when he returned to the car and saw the beer.
